Usually in horror films a woman is the main protagonist, for example in the film ‘final destination’ Ali Carter portrays the main protagonist, the reason why film producers chose to use a woman for the hero is because they are more likely to submit to the villain than a man is. We are challenging this stereotype and are using a male character for our hero.

We have chosen to challenge the most obvious stereotype of this genre… the villain of our film is a woman, stereotypically a man has always portrayed the villain (a few examples are Mike Myers from Halloween and Jason from Friday the 13^th). It is very rare to find a female villain because women are always portrayed as sweet and innocent, plus no one would expect them to be the killer the reversal in the gender of the villain will create an enormous twist in our narrative of the audience.
